Religion has become a money making venture rather than the way to help other peope.  So your right religion is gone in the society today.

Mega churches are not exactly a new thing.

    The Roman Catholic Church

    has been building massive cathedrals

with impressive statuary and stained glass windows,

    for a long time.

    The Protestants branched off,

    partly because of that extravagance.

But the lure of big money

    became too great

    for many of them,

    eventually.

    Mega-churches exist

    but

the overwhelming majority of Christians do not attend such churches.

I wouldn't argue with that - except that not all Christianity is guilty of such offensiveness before God and man. If you stopped looking constantly at the media and checked out congregations that just don't do such things, you'd be pleasantly surprised. But I suppose you live in America (or maybe Africa). Here's a thought, though. It's religion that is guilty of that - a form of worship that is more important to the practitioners than in living quiet, holy and prayerful lives before God. Religiosity is what you're seeing there, not Christianity.

Christianity drowned in a powerless water baptism that didn't put "the Spirit of Christ within them" (Romans 8:9) like those in Jesus' Church on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:2-4).

Since it's either "the devil" or Jesus, they didn't have anything else to resort to but "the devil" (I Corinthians 10:21).

  • American churches abandoned Christianity decades ago.  Jesus said you cannot love God and money, and it's clear what they have chosen.  We'll have to start sending missionaries to the USA to convert them to Christianity.

Churches still aren't all like that.

Scripture prophesied that a very long time ago. The world claims its victims year in and year out. Thats no secret.
