1 Hire a drain clearance company if you do not know what you are doing

2 No, they create suction to dislodge obstacle

    3 Products rarely work

4 Down the wc but only as a last resort

5 Award contact to a decorator to carry out the work

too many questions at once.  plunger is the first thing to do.  do NOT use chemicals ... they damage the pipes over time and you end up with a very expensive plumber's job to pay for.  snake out a line that is still plugged.  AND, stop putting anything except human waste and toilet tissue into the wc.  in severe cases, especially with older houses, the underground sewer line may have to be power snaked from the vent stack on the roof.  and if that doesn't do it, a specialized plumber runs a camera down the drain line to find out what the problem really is -- collapsed drains, intruding roots, and other issues can be solved -- but aren't cheap.  -- granddad

Don't use chemical products in a toilet (wc). The plunger works through creating a vaccuum, which sucks the clog up, not down. If a plunger doesn't work, you need to call out a plumber who will use a long line called a "snake" to go down into the pipes and break up the clog.
