    There will be many, chances are, but the current methods used to detect planets are not good at detecting Earth-like ones.

    very probably yes, but they are too far away for sending a probe there.

    Within the entirety of the universe?

    Certainly.

    So far, we've only found a tiny handful. 

    And those are sort of close by (due to current limits of technology).

    That's what we keep looking for.  Our detection methods favor large planets that are fairly close to their parent stars.  So it could take a long time to find "earths" even if they are out there.

    Probably.  Possibly.  Very likely.  BUT we haven't found it yet.
