Is the U.S. Goverment afraid of the people? Is this why there were so many troops in Washington?

They should be afraid of ordinary people. Since 1980, both parties have conspired to steal everyone's money and give it to 1% of the population. They should realize that 300 million people are not just walk passively to the homeless shelter. They WILL revolt, kill their tormentors. This is the lesson of history.

The military presence is designed to prevent unlawful conduct. Ever since the trumpsters stormed the Capitol where there wasn't enough military presence, it's been working great.

I don't think they are afraid.. I think they want America and particularly the Republicans to see just how powerful they are and that they can  take over everything at any time.  People.. communism is upon us.. to bad so many are too dumb to see it.

The government should fear the people, but the enemy among us is not the American people whether democrat or republican, but extremist groups that would like America destroyed.  9/11 should have taught us a lesson that open borders is the past and not in our future.

Using your reasoning, we should get rid of all law enforcement and let criminals run wild. I don't think so.

Not afraid of the people.  Afraid of the fringe nutbars who already attacked once and are threatening to do it again.  Only an idiot would act like such people do not exist.

When you go downtown at night in the city, are you afraid of "people" or just the rare mugger?  Do you avoid all people, or simply avoid high risk situations where the muggers might be able to act?

Preparing against a threat is hardly a case of fear.  It is the opposite of stupidity.
