Does the “YTD” on a paystub start over in January?

    Did January 1, 2021 begin in 2021 or 2020................YES, the YTD begins the first of January every year.

    YTD stands for year to date and the new year started 0n Jan. 1st. Next Jan. 1st will start 2022 and so on.

    Jan 1 - Dec 31 is YTD for your paystubs.  

    PS:  Many non-profits us Jul for their fiscal year.  There is no law stating all must be and it is not relevant to the YTD numbers of someone's paycheck that works there.

    usually depends on the organisation - the us government is from 1 oct, not for profits are 1 jul but private businesses can be anything
