Can you help me please?

The first time I had heard the voice of God in my soul, inviting me to embark on a more perfect life, was when I was seven, but I didn't always listen to the voice of grace. I never met anyone who could explain these things to me.

What does the expression "I never met anyone who could explain these things to me" mean exactly?

Please explain this to me clearly. Thank you!

The person writing the passage wanted to live a spiritual life but didn't know how to. He didn't have mentors, people to guide him along the way. Therefore, he didn't understand spiritual terms like grace, faith, God, etc. Maybe if he had mentors, his life would have been more spiritual.

    That's how I interpret it.
