How many formula units are equal to 2.75 moles aluminum chloride?

A 16.6 formula units

B) 2.19 formula units

C) 1.66 x 10²⁴ formula units

D) 2.19 x 10²³ formula units

    Remember the Avogadro Number. 

    1 mole(formula units)  = 6.022 x 10^23 molecules. 

    Hence for 2.75 moles there are 6.022 x 19^23 = 1.66 x 10^24 formula units(molecules).

    Think of "formula units" as almost a synonym for "molecules."  It's just that the solid may be in a lattice where you can't associate a particular chlorine with any one of the surrounding aluminum atoms.  

    Answer:  2.75 x 6.02 x 10^23 = 1.66 x 10^24 formula units
