@Boomer - Recent archaeological discoveries have put the last common ancestor of the various humans (Sapiens, Neanderthal, Denisovan, etc.) in southern Europe, around the Iberian peninsular, and the earliest Sapiens being in northern Africa, in what is now Morocco. So early Sapiens may have started slightly tanned (think Med / Arab colouring) and become darker as they migrated south into sub-Saharan Africa, lighter as they migrated north into Europe and Asia. Interbreeding with other archaic humans who had previously migrated would strengthen any adaptations to their environments.

As for 'the black race' being genetically the best? Nah, they're just as messed up as the rest...

The first humans were black skinned because of the climate. As they migrated to a colder climate their skin color evolved toward a lighter shade. So if your ancestors walked upright you have black skinned relatives that began life in Africa.
