Is it normal for lower ranking police officers to feel apprehension when talking to a detective or some other higher ranking officer?
For example, that feeling civilians get when talking with the police or being pulled over by one. Kind of like a people in the outer circles feeling aprehension from those within the inner circles?

No, it is not. But I'm confused. You were formerly a Constable in Australia, remember? How did YOU feel about talking to higher-ranking officers? You have the experience, I don't.
