why do americans hate commies and fascists?

I noticed that, americans called commies or fascists to people that attacked usa, I did never understand why. 

communism is failed with berlin wall while fascism with mussolini and hitler capture

WWII, Cold War, Korean Conflict, Vietnam War, Central America, Domino Theory... In a bid to get public support for throwing billions of dollars at these things anyone who attend school since about 1938 has been taught to hate them.
