Can you use a forehead thermometer under your arm, or chest? ?

I know this is random but can you use an  non contact fore head thermometer pointed under arm or at your chest/back and results accurate? The reason I ask is because my body has been hot today, but on reading the forehead reading it's not showing a temp, but when I point it under my arm or my chest and back it's showing a fever which is relatable to how I feel. How accurate are these thermometers if not pointed at the forehead? Does it make a difference?
