I hired some movers and I don't feel secure...?

Question

I spoke to them they seem fine... How do I know they won't run off with my stuff while they are delivering my belongings to my new apartment?  I feel dread and fear!

Do your own inventory and take photos of valuable items. Put items in sealed boxes where possible. That's all you can do. It's very unlikely they will take stuff as they would be no.1 suspects.
