Poll: Why should we thank veterans for their service?

I think it is important to thank veterans for their service because all the freedom and liberties we have today are thanks to their sacrifice do you agree or disagree?

When I got back to the states from Vietnam in the early 70s. Nobody thanked me for my service. They spit at me and called me a baby killer and threw stuff at me. They seemed to think that I WANTED to go over there for some reason. Shoot, I got drafted right out of highschool.
