Can a cop go to prison for this in reality?

If people witnessed a murder by gunshot and called the police and the police wanted them to show exactly how they shot them self by sticking the gun in their mouth can the cop go to prison for that? I was watching texas chainsaw massacre where an impostor sheriff did that and he was actually the uncle of the chainsaw man who killed people and i heard apparently a real cops wouldnt do that
