Neither. Both names are "extremely common." I have a brother named Benjamin and a nephew named Alexander. My girlfriend's son is also named Alexander, and that name is "unbelievably common" in South Florida where I live. You should choose a name that is below the Top 50 most common male baby names on SSA.gov.

Alexander, it's such a strong historical classic and I love the nicknames Alec and Xander! Benjamin is a sensible classic too but I don't like it as much.

Benjamin. I love how it sounds it’s one of my favorite long names. Don’t care for Alexander

I don't have to pick because I have both. The first one is my first name. The second one is my middle name.
