    What we pursue and why we pursue it matters a great deal in the end result. Meditation as a practice is a type of self-hypnosis that induces a false sense of stupor in the mind. We never have to exercise control over what is truly ours. What we need to control is what makes us feel different or that we don't own.

    Saying that one has mental control also means that one may lose control given the circumstances.

    You can learn many things from meditating and it is possible to release the mind so it works for you without trying.
