Can you put a fly reel on a regular spinning rod?

On North to Alaska they had a set up like that

    yes, you can. It is very useful for fishing small creeks.

    Sure you can it fits. BUT much nicer to use a Spinning reel on a fly rod. Looong casts, and a really challenging fish fight.

    Look you seem to be having allot of difficulty crossing up with a fly fishing outfit. You DO NOT use Spiderwire on a fly rod. In fly fishing you are not casting the lure, you ARE casting the line. Much as a whip. This is the reason you can throw such a tiny light weight fly. Secondarily, Braided line will cut the rod guides in short order UNLESS the guides were made to stand up to braided line which they are certainly NOT on a Fly Rod. That stuff is like a wire to cut metal.

    Steven ... just buy a 7 foot one piece Spinning Rod and use you Fly Rod as it was intended. There ya go now you have none of these problems : )
