A computer fast enough to support virtual reality goggles and applications. Available as towers or laptops, such machines have the fastest graphics cards (GPUs) and processors. ... See Oculus, VR headset, GPU and virtual reality.

A computer that is VR-ready is actually fast enough to support virtual reality goggles and applications. Available as towers or laptops, such machines have the fastest graphics cards (GPUs) and processors.

In the 2nd Hand Market the term "VR Ready" has become a meaningless marketing term which means it's a powerful Gaming PC. I've seen plenty of people trying to sell a PC that they claim is "VR Ready" but it's NOT VR Ready.

A PC with a Core i5-9400f and a GTX 1660ti would make for an alright Gaming PC that's capable of playing anything at 1920x1080 but it would be a meager VR Gaming PC. 8gb of system RAM is no longer VR Ready nor is it enough for modern PC games like Assassins Creed Valhalla.

I've noticed this "VR Ready" pattern with 2nd Hand resellers and sellers on amazon. Whenever you see this phrase, it means the PC is just a little bit above Entry Level for VR. You don't see this phrase being used on a far more powerful PC with hardware like a Ryzen 7 or Core i7 and a Graphics card like the RTX 2080 or RTX 3060ti.

"VR Ready" stands for "Virtual Reality Ready."  It simply means that the hardware in the computer will support the most recent 3D video standards for gaming.

"VR ready" IMPLIES that it has the

extra horsepower to handle the extra

    processing load that virtual reality

    rendering/graphics will require.

    Until someone does some actual

    benchmarking/testing, this is just

    their claim, not necessarily reality.

it means it is ready to be used for VR, if you so desire.

in case you don't know it, VR requires more power than most video games.
