Ways to help relieve period cramps?

I've tried tylenol but that didn't help. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I know it's the last thing you want to do, but moving MORE, even just walking really helps the pain. I have to drag myself to do it, but after about 5 minutes, I feel ten times better. Drinking water and moving more helps a lot.

It's not a cure, but what my wife did was started eating better, drinking more water  to stay better hydrated, and getting (almost) daily exercise from a Zumba class.  Her periods got way more regular and less severe.
