Why are essential oils essential? How can they be when essential when most people don't use them? Is it just marketing?  What are they for ?

Anything can be manufactured and sold with the word 'essential' slapped on it when it's really not. Food and water is essential. Oil in your car engine is essential. The govt decides for us what businesses are essential, whether we agree or not.

What?  The word "essential" when used with oils doesn't mean essential to humans.

"An essential oil is "essential" in the sense that it contains the "essence of" the plant's fragrance—the characteristic fragrance of the plant from which it is derived" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essential_oil

It's 99.9999% marketing and typically hogwash.   The essential oils your body needs IT creates in your liver,  mostly from ingesting animal fats.
