Why do many conservatives oppose affirmative action?

Why do Liberals support it? Does it not go against their own philosophy of everybody getting an equal chance and choice?.  That is why conservatives oppose it.  We agree with everybody getting having an equal opportunity and choice.

Affirmative action, on the other hand, is just discrimination in reverse.  A supporter of this is SEEN as a person who BELIEVES the racist myth of black's inferiority and needs "extra help" to succeed---even though they may think they are GOOD for doing this.-----

Conservatives also see affirmative action as a very transparent attempt by Liberal politicians to GAIN FAVOR with the black community for VOTES while still harboring racist ideas about them.

The well-meaning Liberal followers just go among with what their leaders tell them and never question their motives, even though it violates what they claim to stand for.

So there you go--- Conservatives oppose it for several reasons---It violates the fairness equality principle that they can agree to, It looks like a pandering political stunt by people only PRETENDING to believe in racial equality, and exposes rank and file Liberals as hypocrites and sheep who will go against their own stated "good" principles.

Because "affirmative action" is a euphemism for state mandated race discrimination and I oppose all forms of state sponsored racism whether you call it "affirmative action" or "Jim Crow".

I regard this opposition as a legal necessity on Fourteenth Amendment grounds as well as a moral imperative.

Because affirmative action can undermine the conservative approach to prosperity, to wit: having a readily identifiable minority to exploit.

I don’t oppose affirmative action for whites. Whites should be hired over blacks.

Because it gives Minorities a bad reputation.  People think they got the job by affirmative action and are not actually qualified.

And when it comes to allowing unqualified students into college, they do very poorly academically and end up in debt but with no degree and no self confidence.
