How many friends are real vs fake ?

I remember years ago I told my family physician my friends treated me bad 

And the doctor said “than they are not real friends.”

At the time I was thinking silently in my head  “easy for you to say,”

Like my family doctor is the nicest person I know and also the smartest and he is funny and humble and filthy rich and always smiling but respectful and serious 

So obviously he has an easy time making high quality friends

At the time I only had a high school diploma and did not have a job so I did not have high quality people in my life

Friends are Friends , when you call them friends they are your friends. So those people who are fake they are not your friends, simple as that.
