What are the odds we are the product of aliens mating with wild apes?

  • Poor. Extremely low.

That is impossible. Different species can not mate. And aliens wouldn't even have the same kind of DNA that earth life has.

Very slight. Would aliens even use DNA?

The odds are incalculable as we have no direct evidence that extraterrestrials even exist. However, there are numerous things that allow us to draw the conclusion that it is unlikely.

First is that based on what we know of the evolution of life on Earth the most abundant type of life are single celled bacteria, so if we ever discover extraterrestrial life the chances are it would be more akin to Earthly bacteria than anything related to Homo sapiens.

Secondly is that based on what we know of sexual reproduction and ring species is that you don't have to get very far removed before two species are incapable of successfully interbreeding. Humans cannot interbreed with other extant apes, and the chances that extraterrestrials would be close enough related to be capable of interbreeding with terrestrial apes would be a miraculous coincidence.

Lastly we can point to DNA evidence that shows a relatively clear progression of evolutionary development from terrestrial species with no suddenly unexpected appearance of unexplained extraterrestrial DNA.

We cannot calculate the odds because that requires known factors, but we can look at what evidence we have available and conclude that there is no reason to believe this is true or even possible.

Since we share about 98% of our DNA with Chimps... I'd guess the odds to be extremely low.

That explains why sailors liked sheep... Come on if you could travel lightyears would you have sex with a wookie

Zero, because aliens by definition would not be able to breed with any species native to this planet.

At this point we have a pretty clear fossil record for human evolution, so, no, that's not how things happened.

    Absolutely ZERO%.
