It varies depending on the time of the year because the Earth has an elliptical orbit.

It is closest during the perihelion in January when the Earth is 147,091,144km (91,398,199mi) away from the sun and furthest in July during the aphelion when the Earth is 152,095,295km (94,507,635mi) away from the sun.

About 92,900,000 miles, on average; but, the distance varies by about 3.1 million miles.  We're *closest* to the sun in early January, and *furthest* from the sun in early July.

    147,000,000 to 153,000,000 kilometers.

No, I do NOT "think" in metric units. But metric is SO LOGICAL.

Because Earth has slightly elliptical orbit the average distance is 92,955,000 miles, but it varies from 91 million around January 3 to 94 million around July 3.
