What are things to consider when choosing business plan software?

Like so many things, buying a software program is not going to turn you into an instant expert on writing business plans. You'll just fill in the blanks without knowing what you're doing and you'll get a fancy-looking printout you don't understand.

If you're serious check with the US Small Business Administration. They have a free program called SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) that will assist you in creating a comprehensive business plan that will serve as a roadmap for success in your business proposition.

    But it won't be easy.

    Does it fit your business.

    Can it be upgraded.

    Is it easy to use.

Is there help if it has an issue.

    What is the expense.

You need to consider whether or not you have enough of a legal/accounting background to understand how to use it.

    Your specific use cases.

    One-time costs

    On-going costs

Technical requirements (integrations, platform, on-prem vs cloud, etc)

    Support plan
